Account Manager - Freight and Forwarding - Cape Town Region

ACS is looking for an energetic, passionate Account Manager who is able to nurture and grow customer relationships and act as liaison between the company and its clients. The main purpose is to sustain a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship and use company resources to develop and implement strategic solutions to achieve the clients' long-term goals and thereby generate solid returns. Responsibilities include but is not limited to - Facilitate a sustained and successful relationship between the client and the Company Identify and effectively address individualised needs and expectations of key customers and swiftly and efficiently resolve customer queries and complaints. Mitigate risks associated with customer relations and operations. Expand the customer base through upselling and cross-selling strategies, and successfully on-board all new customers. Utilise industry knowledge and competitor insights to formulate strategic approaches. Day to day operational delivery of our solutions to meet customer needs and objectives Ensure client's operational KPI's across all divisions are achieved within the agreed timelines through active collaboration with relevant teams and complying with SOPs. Streamline and enhance process critical path(s) to ensure effective and efficient output by all stakeholders. Actively manage related SOPs to ensure they are signed off, current, correctly entered on system; communicated and understood by all relevant stakeholders. LIMA (our internal system): Ensure LIMA is updated accurately and timeously, that stakeholders are fully versed in its functioning and provide input re: its development when required. Profit and Systems Management Ensure the client profitability is monitored monthly and any lost GP is investigated. Ensuring systems are accurately and timeously updated as per client and ACS requirements. Reporting , forecasting, budgeting and analysis Provide accurate and timeous reporting to clients' and ACS business as required. Provide input into, and assist with bi-annual budget preparations and monthly target analysis. 6 to 8 Week audit operations process to ensure compliance with agreed processes (includes origin quarterly reviews). Responsible for healthy DSO – target as per company standard. Required Qualification/Knowledge Matric essential, a relevant tertiary qualification preferable 3 years shipping industry knowledge and experience is essential 3 years client services and project management experience is essential Solid experience in using a Supply Chain Management and/or ERP system (or similar industry related software) such as Cargowise is essential Market related
