We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as a Bookkeeper with expertise in GRN matching, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial records. Experience working on Syspro would be highly beneficial. If you reside around Ennerdale, Robertsham, Naturena, Eldorado Park, Florida, Riverlea, Roodepoort, the location of this company will be ideal for travel. This is a full time role, located in the office. GRN Matching: Match purchase orders with corresponding Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and supplier invoices. 3-way matching Ensure timely recording of GRN information in the accounting system. Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, including but not limited to bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Investigate and resolve variances or discrepancies identified during the reconciliation process. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for balance sheet accounts. Journal Entries: Record accurate and timely journal entries for various financial transactions, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation. Ensure proper documentation and support for journal entries in accordance with accounting standards. Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary information for journal entries. Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, providing accurate and reliable data for analysis. Generate financial reports as needed for management review and decision-making purposes. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to GRN matching, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes related to GRN matching, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and standardization initiatives. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred). Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting professional with expertise in GRN matching, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries. Experience from Retail/ FMCG will be highly advantageous Proficiency in accounting software. (Syspro is highly advantageous) Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Market Related
