The main purpose of this role is to lead and develop the market in Africa effectively by means of strategic planning, market analysis, relationship building and sales execution in order to establish Soill as a leading player in this market, driving sustainable growth. Create country specific business plan and strategies for SOILL branded products in selected African countries Establish and manage in country agent in respect to Sales, Marketing and Operations Coordinate regular meetings with agent's teams to communicate company strategy and priorities, review business KPI's, discuss opportunities and threats in the region, run trainings and update sales teams. Assign sales, distribution, and marketing targets to agent based on business targets and follow up these targets regularly. Provide execution trainings, on-the-job trainings and coaching to agent and their teams Regular Trade Visits with agent to coach and unlock distribution and execution opportunities. Analyze the opportunities in the region, take proper action and implement as needed Create strong knowledge of and personal relationships with the top wholesalers, retailers and HORECA customers. Build winning initiatives to drive reach, sales targets, and our execution in all channels Ensures agent fully understand and execute SOILL execution / merchandising standards Implements systems to track and benchmark agent against key initiatives/goals Be a credible FMCG business consultant to agent's and customers and act as a specialist in field Manage assigned budget in supporting business strategy Maintains strong working knowledge of all relevant SOILL systems Proactively uses available reports to maximize on all opportunities including competitor intelligence Holds agents accountable for data submission into SOILL systems to ensure accurate and timely information Develops working knowledge of geographic and demographic areas in assigned geography Develops expertise with regards to product competition and distributor competition in respective area Communicates regularly and works effectively with all internal sales team and marketing teams to secure full alignment of the sales goals with the agent Manage risk by taking alternative precautions with a proactive approach by determining the risks that would hamper SOILL business Close alignment of pricing and promotions with Commercial Director Effective on in time reporting on KPI's, country P&L and ROI Health and Safety Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management Report all safety incidents to the relevant people Attend safety education and refresher programmes Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill Distribute safety information as and when required Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times Qualification and Experience Diploma/Degree in Commerce preferred At least 5 years relevant experience in FMCG - Essential 2 years relevant experience in servicing African market Working experience in commodity market would be advantageous Well established business relationships in Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, and Swaziland Valid Driver's license Relevant key account management experience coupled with distributor and supplier management experience Knowledge of French and Portuguese would be advantageous This role will require travel Knowledge, Skills and Attributes Computer literacy on MS Office packages Good command of the English language Strong financial acumen Customer service orientated Aptitude of continuous learning Excellent negotiation skill.
