CA only - Group Financial Accountant - Brackenfell, Cape Town - - Cape Town City Centre

The head office is based in Brackenfell, South Africa. The vacant Group financial accountant position will report to the CFO or Group Financial Manager but will transition into a financial manager position over time. The client’s group financial team is a small team with a flat reporting structure.

Key responsibilities:

The Group financial accountant will be responsible for month-end accounting and reporting processes, interim/year-end closing and reporting aspects, year-end audit, budgeting process and other financial-related projects which could change from time to time. The detailed responsibilities include the following:

Month End

Preparing loan account reconciliations and product development cost calculations.
Review of subsidiaries’ management accounts.
Tax calculations.
Preparing group consolidated management accounts.

Year-end Audit

Management of the year-end external audit requirements/deliverables.
Ensure that financial transactions in the group are recorded in compliance with IFRS.
Assist group companies with technical accounting transactions and year-end reporting packs.
Review inter-group transactions and loan accounts.
Overseeing the reporting by group companies (local and foreign) and performing group consolidations.
Tax calculations.
Group financial reporting packs for submission to a listed company.
Preparation of group companies' annual financial statements.
