PURPOSE To ensure payment of accounts to external companies for goods purchased and services rendered, transfer of funds to government institutions, public and private enterprise and the payment of salaries and allowances to employees. KEY RESULT AREAS Salary administration Assessment of project funding reports for surpluses Travel and Subsistence Administration of deduction disallowance, salary reversal, private telephone, pension fund and insurance schemes Administration of transfer and miscellaneous payments and verification of supplier bank details COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Prescripts and policies Knowledge and understanding of the PFMA Knowledge and understanding of Treasury Regulations Knowledge of Income Tax Act Knowledge of Tax Administration Act Knowledge of PERSAL Knowledge of BAS Knowledge of Departmental policies and procedures Knowledge of other relevant regulations and legislation Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures SKILLS Accounting skills Computer skills Interpersonal Skills Communications skills Advanced MS Excel skills PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Analytical Ability to work under pressure Ability to work individually and as part of the team Ability to perform advanced financial calculations QUALIFICATIONS AND NEXPERIENCE National Diploma in Financial accounting. 1-2 years relevant work experience in Financial environment.
