Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Cape Town City Centre

Key responsibilities of the role:

Operational Leadership:
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to support the company's overall mission and objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects of operational activities, including but not limited to customer support, project management, quality assurance, and resource allocation.
  • Streamline internal processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and drive continuous improvement.
Software Delivery Management:
  • Lead the software delivery team to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of SaaS solutions to clients
  • Collaborate closely with product management and development teams to prioritize features, plan releases, and manage product roadmaps
  • Implement best practices for software development, deployment, and maintenance to ensure the reliability and scalability of our platform
  • Drive innovation and technological advancements to maintain our competitive edge in the market
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Developing, reviewing, and reporting on key metrics, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to ensure we meet or exceed our goals
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork across departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to understand client needs, gather feedback, and drive product enhancements
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive growth and profitability
  • Be instrumental in the implementation of new technology and innovative solutions that can enhance operations, streamline processes, and improve efficiency
  • Working with the People Team, on the development of more efficient people operations, for internal processes such as onboarding, learning and development, and talent
About You:
  • Deep understanding of the Insurance industry
  • Experience as a COO or in a similar senior operational leadership role, with proven experience in the successful delivery of key strategic business goals
  • Proven background and understanding of the operations within software development and SaaS delivery, ideally within the insurance industry
  • Extensive managerial experience in multi-disciplinary teams and well-developed management skills both principles and people
  • Highly commercial and able to understand and drive improvements in the growth drivers of the business.
  • Highly effective and focused, with inspirational leadership skills
  • Possessing the credibility, gravitas, and integrity to lead significant organizational change and to deliver sustainable stakeholder relationships and innovative change
  • Sound administrative and reporting skills
  • Be resilient, tenacious, and adaptable
