The incumbent will play a central role in defining the Press's strategic direction and ensuring that every aspect of the operations aligns with the University's vision. The University Press Director is responsible for providing visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the University Press. The Director plays a pivotal role in driving the Press's growth, ensuring its financial sustainability, and fostering stakeholder engagement. This position is instrumental in generating third-stream income through innovative publishing ventures, collaborations, and building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders including authors, readers, partners, and university leadership, thereby enhancing the Press's contribution to the university's overall revenue streams and academic excellence. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for external parties and work to cultivate mutually beneficial partnerships and shall provide leadership, guidance, and support to the UKZN Press team.
