We are currently recruiting for an Electronic Technician to join our team. Job Purpose The principal purpose of this role is to conduct preventative and corrective maintenance and installations (electronic and electrical) on all toll collection equipment, traffic management peripherals within the toll plaza, record keeping of maintenance, installations and inspections and to report any serious and malicious damage to any equipment or buildings to head of department. Grade 12 Certificate Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering At least 5 years Toll industry or related Electronics experience Valid Unendorsed Code 08 Drivers License Certificate of medical fitness Knowledgeable In-depth knowledge of MIS Electronic Toll Collection System Industrial Networking experience advantageous Plc experience advantageous Understanding of relevant procedures such as: Environmental, health and safety, compliance and good housekeeping practices Procedure manuals Understanding of Supervisory responsibilities/functions Required competencies to meet the job outcomes: Fluent in English Excellent communication skills (written & oral) Excellent Interpersonal relationship skills Self-management Expert knowledge of validation cameras Excellent fault-finding skills In depth knowledge of Electrical and Electronic Installations Planning and follow through of maintenance activities Good computer literacy skill Good data analysis skills Attention to detail Problem-solving skills Excellent time management skills Ensure that all TCE systems are adequately maintained as per procedures and client requirements. Conduct daily and monthly inspections of all toll collection equipment, traffic management peripherals within the toll plaza, validation cameras and AVC reports. Analyse and resolve technical issues and respond to queries timeously. Ensure that all system support requests are attended to and recorded timeously through the prescribed methods. Oversee and manage new equipment installations, replacement of old equipment and repairs in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company procedure. Report all incidents in the prescribed manner. Keep record of all inspections in the prescribed manner and submit reports timeously to management. Provide support and assistance to other departments as and when required to ensure customer service satisfaction and efficiency. Coordinate with operational/technical departments to provide guidance on performance and execution of duties within the TCE environment. Maintain relationships with stakeholders (internal/external) in order to effectively deliver technical advice and meet expectations Compile and submit ad hoc reports as required by Management. Keep record off all company tools and ensure that tools are kept in a good and clean working order. Keep all TCE asset registers updated in accordance with company procedure. Monitor and keep record of all TCE equipment and ensure that adequate spares are kept on site. Assist with procurement of tools and spares as required. Ensure all health, safety and security policies and procedures are always followed. Comply with all rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Company. Ensure that all equipment will be in good working order to ensure the Company can comply with all contractual obligations. To perform overtime and standby duties as required.
