The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution, implementation and maintenance of multiple toll system-related projects. You will manage, oversee and coordinate various project activities to ensure the timely completion of all projects within budget in line with the company tender specifications on all company projects. Your role will involve extensive coordination, communication, client relationship management, managing contractual interfacing and specifications, overseeing the maintenance of sites and strategic planning to ensure the highest level of client satisfaction and project success. Required competencies to meet the job outcomes: 2 •Fluent in English – exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, team members and stakeholders •Excellent project management skills •Attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Competent financial management skills •Excellent human resources management skills •Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving project goals •Strong leadership skills •Highly motivated individual with strong self-management skills •Exceptional interpersonal skills •Strong assertiveness •Enables and drives a learning culture •Excellent time management skills •Good conflict management skills •Solution driven •Pro-active approach •Strong knowledge of toll system applications or similar complex software projects will be advantageous •Planning and organising skills •Advanced computer literacy skills Physical Demands & Work environment: •The physical demands are those required to work in an office and inside and outside of buildings •Drive a motor vehicle according to standards on public roads •Work in all types of weather •The work environment characteristics are those encountered within a typical toll road operation, largely site work with the office bound duty of admin and attendance of meetings Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Planning and Strategy Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budget and resource allocation Create project strategies and define project objectives to align with the company's overall goals Conduct risk assessments, manage project risks and issues, develop and implement appropriate contingency plans to mitigate potential project risks Project program management Ensure project deliverable meet quality standards and are completed within budget and on time Compile and manage project installation/implementation plans Review and understand contractual specifications and obligations for each project and ensure projects meet specifications Oversee and manage ad hoc projects as and when required Team Leadership and Management o Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities o Provide guidance, direction and support to team members throughout the project lifecycle o Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment to promote high team performance o Plan activities and manage performance of subordinates o Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any issues or concerns promptly o Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve project management methodologies and processes o Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, providing regular updates and addressing inquiries o Proactively manage stakeholders expectations and ensure their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle Project Execution and Monitoring oOversee and manage the design, build and installation activities by Nominated Subcontractors across multiple projects oMonitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets and quality standards oRegularly monitor and communicate project status, milestones and risks to stakeholders and management and highlighting and manage any issues that arise oCollaborate with internal teams to continuously improve project management methodologies and processes oManage project meetings with customers and stakeholders, ensuring that all requirements are understood and met oEnsure all project documentation are maintained in a timely and accurate manner oEnsure all health, safety and security policies and procedures are followed oEnsure compliance with all contractual obligations and FIDIC processes oMaintain and enhance relationships with project stakeholders and role-players oAnalyse user requirements and specifications to determine compliance of design submissions oEvaluate all system practices and recommend improvements and modifications to enhance efficiencies oEnsure adherence to company policies and procedures Maintenance Management oEnsure TCS systems are adequately maintained as per procedures and client requirements and ensure timely response and resolution of any maintenance issues oCompile and submit reports as required by management o Implement quality control processes and conduct regular inspections to uphold high-quality deliverables Employment Specification Education & Experience (minimum requirements to perform the job): School : Grade 12 Post School: Diploma or Degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a related field. Professional registration – ECSA and PMP preferred. Job Related : Valid unendorsed Code B [previously Code 08] driver's license. Experience: At least 10 years related experience of which 5 should be in a managerial position. Proven experience as a Project Manager in IT infrastructure projects. Experience in managing concurrent projects and prioritizing resources and tasks. Capacity: Experience in the tolling environment will be an advantage R900 000 - R1.1m p/a Apply Now
