Reference: JHB007324-JO-1 Immediately available for a Limited Duration Fixed Term contract? FMCG / Distribution concern based in Isando has an opening for a Financial Accountant. Assist with the company's compliance to the SOX Act; provide assistance with the taxation function within the company and the statutory annual financial statements. Manage the AP function and provide assistance i n various accounting functions within the Finance Department. Successful incumbent with have a completed B.Com (Accounting) degree / similar, coupled with 3-5 years related Accounting experience within the FMCG / Distribution sectors. Recent Syspro experience is essential . KPI's include: Internal audit / Sarbanes Oxley project manager/External audit - Oversee the Sarbanes Oxley Act section 404 requirements including - planning of the quarterly audit, and external audit; updating documentation of processes; performing walkthroughs, at least annually; performing bi-annual testing of controls; identifying weaknesses in internal controls and reporting of these deficiencies to the financial manager and relevant heads of department; Taxation - Assist with of Completion of all tax returns (Monthly VAT returns, quarterly Ad-valorem returns, provisional tax, STC etc); Assist with Performing the VAT reasonability; Maintenance of the Ad-valorem tariff code table in the system; Monthly reporting of tax forecasts to New York as well as the annual Form 5471; Assist with Preparation of the annual tax pack and completion of the IT14 return; Audit liaison of the annual tax pack; Review of tax schedules; Assistance with all tax related queries/audits; Statutory Annual Financial Statements - Assist and support the FM with the preparation of statutory annual financial statements; Financial Accounting - Performing monthly B/S recons; Preparing and posting monthly journals; Responsible for the fixed assets register; Budget and forecast load into HFM; Analysis of A&M expenditure by brand support and indirect expenses; Balancing of HYP vs GL; Review of stores rebates and trading terms by customer; Preparation of the tables of authority; Accounts Payable - Review of aged payables exception report; Review of audit trail of vendor master file changes report; Review monthly creditors reconciliations; Assist and support the Finance Manager with the preparation of the Statutory Annual Financial Statements.
