MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Processing of financial transactions and ensuring financial control over financial month end. Providing financial feedback for monthly performance reporting and input into business development and other projects. Additionally, bear accountability for the overall management of the General Ledger Accounts, including completeness of data inputs from Bank Statements to Operating System General Ledger to Great Plains General Ledger accounts across all financial accounting systems; Reconciliations between the line of business system and the bank statement- investigations and resolution of recon differences; General Ledger to Bank statement reconciliation and investigations as well as resolution of differences. DESCRIPTION OF TASKS Financial Reporting: Perform monthly accounting for month end entries including Impairments, Accrued expenses and income etc. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations including, Debtors (Advances), Bank and Cash and Intercompany Preparation of monthly management accounts Preparation of annual budgets Reconcile System MIS to GL Conduct Month end activities and ensure the month is closed within stipulated timelines Assist with value-add projects and process enhancements Assist with data required for business cases. Debtors Recons: Perform Monthly Debtors Recon between Operating System and Great Plains Conducts corrective action to resolve the recon differences in the same month Resolve and clear Intercompany balances pertaining to Debtors Prepare recon reports for line management showing differences and explain same – including the monthly movements (graphs and charting) Update dashboard with monthly movements and the differences performance and trends Material differences to be explained and resolved Prepare reports for yearly appraisals Cash Book Recons Performs and deliver daily and monthly reconciliations between Bank, Operating System General Ledger and Great Plains General Ledger accounts for the allocated legal entity/entities Ensure all transaction processing is completed in line with satisfactory compliance requirements and service standards Conducts corrective action to resolve the recon differences in the same month Prepare monthly securitisation of deals to the respective securitisation vehicles Prepare and posts all journal entries, loading all payments onto the legal entity's bank account, intercompany accounts, etc. Reports Prepare Month end Recon reports Prepare Debtors Recon Reports and the respective monthly movements Prepare Cashbook Recons Reports and the respective monthly movements QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED Matric BCom degree, with accounting and three to five years' experience as an Accountant Solid accounting background with a sound understanding of accounting systems Previous working experience with Great Plains will be an advantage Advanced Excel is essential Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of the legislation applicable to the field of financial management including Companies Act, Income Tax Act, IFRS. Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail Excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills Must be able to work comfortably in a team environment The candidate must be highly flexible, adaptable and be open and welcoming to change Must have an ability to manage multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines High level of involvement with the operations team Engage with various stakeholders, including shareholders, banking partners, suppliers, customers, operations and sales team members Accuracy and attention to detail is essential REMUNERATION: Market related Cost to Company, based on qualification and experience Interested applicants can forward their CV to Semonay.Wesleysasfin.com by no later than 3 May 2024.
