We are looking for a Financial Controller who will be responsible for all hotel accounting and financial controls under the supervision of the General Manager, under functional guidance of the Corporate Controller, within the policies and procedures as outlined in D-Place, according to corporate policies and procedures, and according to local requirements and regulations. In addition, the job incumbent controls the overall hotel costs by managing the purchasing function. The function should be proactive, analysing, and recommending alternative action in every respect, and operate in line with hotel and corporate policies and guidelines, and the hotel's business plan. Maximizes cash flow performance of the hotel through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursements, deposits, and remittances. Credit Management. Assists and provides financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of the business plan, hotel and departmental budgets, and objectives program and manage relevant budgets appropriately. Obtains appropriate legal counsel regarding the business practices of the hotel, and maintains awareness of local rules, laws, and regulations. Month end reports. Direct and manage receiving and storeroom functions. HR functions including but not limited to interviewing candidates, training management, identify employees with potential for promotions or transfers. Health and Safety compliance. Qualifications: Grade 12 with a relevant financial qualification (Diploma/Degree). Hospitality qualification will be an added advantage. Experience: 5 - 10 years' experience as a Financial Controller or similar role. A proven track record in a similar role within a hospitality environment and to be able to demonstrate excellent standards and team member management Manage daily operations and assist in resolving challenges. Strong working knowledge of Opera Property Management System, payroll, budget, and revenue systems. Competencies: Problem solving and formal reporting. An ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Market Related depending on experience.
