We are seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our team. As the Financial Manager, you will be responsible for the financial management of several group companies and supporting operational teams to achieve business outcomes. This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional with senior operations experience. The Financial Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, leading the finance department, and ensuring adherence to financial procedures and standards. The ideal candidate will have a background in mining and quarrying (manufacturing). • Manage all financial administrative routines and efficiencies within the Finance Department. • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. • Team coach and people developer, people management skills a prerequisite. • Strong analytical and research ability. • Strategic thinker with time management proficiency. • Deadline-driven with people and resource management skills. • Good relationship-building skills and independent problem-solving ability. • High level of diligence with meticulous attention to detail. • Ability to analyse financial statements and sound knowledge of finance principles and procedures. • Strong business acumen and ability to identify risks. • Extensive experience in accounting ERP systems (Sage Pastel Products beneficial). • Development and implementation of proper financial processes, protocols and standards for groups. • Operational financial management with audit experience beneficial. • Group and operational financial reporting to appropriate forums. • Advanced user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). • Develop new metrics for driving business performance and minimizing risk. • Manage relationships with bankers, SARS, auditors, and authorities. • Comply with national and local financial regulations. • Strengthen and grow relationships with customers and/or suppliers. • Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts process. • Manage an operational team and an internal audit team. • Financial due diligence and valuation models. • Consolidation of financial statements. • Coordinate strategic financial planning. • Focus on daily and month-end accounting. • Provide insights regarding spending trends and cost-saving initiatives. • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to management. • Advise on investment activities and strategies. • Maintain the financial health of the organization. • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, and sales results. • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities. • Oversee operations of the finance department. • Liaise with auditors and ensure compliance with tax and financial reporting standards. • Prepare business activity reports, financial statements, and forecasts. • Develop financial reporting systems. • Analyse market trends to discover business opportunities. • Aid management in financial decisions. • Supervise the preparation of reconciliations. • Monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards. • Preferably experienced in the mining or quarrying environment. • Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting. • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management.
