Permanent Position in Midrand. The Fleet and Asset Controller is responsible for managing, maintaining and monitoring the use of all company assets i.e. fleet of vehicles, special tools, equipment and maintenance and repairs of the building facilities. Primary function Daily control of issue and returns of the companies' special tools, equipment and vehicles Prioritizing assigned work tasks, documenting the maintenance and calibration schedules of equipment and coordinating with service providers to meet deadlines and reduce production downtime Liaise with service providers to obtain quotations and resolve service and repair issues Collection and deliveries of stock and other related items Responsible for the safe keeping and disposal of scrap metal Assist with annual stock taking of warehouse inventory. Strong administration and record keeping skills of all asset movements Manage the daily running of fleet of vehicles. Ensuring vehicle services, maintenance, license disc renewals are up to date and that the vehicle is always in a roadworthy/safe state Vehicle tracking - liaising with the tracking company, ensuring the safety of the vehicles, presenting reports to management Perform vehicle registration, insurance and tracker formalities and documentation regarding induction of new vehicles in existing fleet Action preventive maintenance to forecast problems and extend the life of vehicles and all other assets to ensure cost efficiencies Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify areas in need of maintenance and repair including but not limited to all building repairs, painting, plumbing, security, and lighting maintenance Education skills and experience High school certificate or equivalent Proven track record of previous management and administrative work. Related experience with maintenance and control of a fleet of vehicles and tools and equipment. Solid understanding of asset management principles Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision Ability to prioritize daily tasks Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work in a team Strong problem-solving abilities Strong time-management skills. Basic understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and standards Good computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) Code 08 Driver's license Personal Requirements Must be between 45 – 52 years of age. Applicant will be required to Stand/walk for long periods. Applicant will be required to manoeuvre items of 20kg from time to time. Applicant will be required and have the ability to negotiate stairways from time to time. R20000-R30000 per month based on experience
