General Director - Johannesburg

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership: Set the direction and vision of the company in collaboration with the board of directors.
  2. Executive Decision Making: Make critical decisions regarding resource allocation, business development, and operational priorities.
  3. Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and ensure profitability and sustainability.
  4. Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary liaison between the company and its stakeholders.
  5. Organizational Culture and Talent Management: Shape the company's culture, attract top talent, and develop leadership capabilities.
  6. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to minimize their impact on the business.
  7. Operational Oversight: Ensure the company functions efficiently and effectively.
  8. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure the company operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  9. Communication and Representation: Represent the company to external stakeholders.
  10. Crisis Management: Provide strong leadership in times of crisis or unforeseen challenges.
Immediate Expectations:
  1. Develop 5-year strategies and annual operational plans, delivering on sales growth targets.
  2. Act as the primary point of contact for the Sub Saharan and South African markets.
  3. Oversee branch and manufacturing operations, ensuring legal compliance.
  4. Focus on business development, building customer relationships, and resolving issues.
  5. Drive revenue growth and net margins.
  6. Ensure compliance with local and corporate legal and statutory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role within a sales-focused organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the Sub Saharan and South African markets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively within and outside of the region.
  • Knowledge of US market is highly beneficial
