My client a leading global provider of information technologies that drives quality and productivity improvements across geospatial and industrial enterprise applications with offices based in Johannesburg, presently has exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join their growing team, kindly submit all applications to Kyle.Govendermediro-ict.co.za ROLE & PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: A General Manager focused heavily on revenue growth and is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of a business operations with the primary goal of increasing revenue. Overall, the General Manager focused on revenue growth plays a critical role in driving the financial success and long-term sustainability of the business by implementing strategic initiatives to increase revenue and profitability. Responsible for managing all aspects of the Woodmead Johannesburg office, including strategic planning, operational execution, and financial performance. You will provide leadership and guidance to the mining team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, industry regulations, and company standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and implementing innovative solutions to optimize productivity and efficiency. Key objectives and responsibilities of this role typically include: • Revenue Growth Strategy: Developing and implementing strategic plans to drive revenue growth across all business units and product lines. • Sales and Marketing Leadership: Leading the sales and marketing teams to identify new opportunities, develop innovative strategies, and execute effective campaigns to increase sales and market share. • Financial Management: Managing the financial performance of the business, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring profitability targets are met or exceeded. • Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction to drive repeat business and referrals. • Operational Excellence: Ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness across all departments to maximise revenue generation and minimise costs. • Market Analysis and competitive Intelligence: Conducting market research and analysis to identify new market opportunities, trends, and competitive threats to inform strategic decision- making. • Product Development and Innovation: Working closely with the product development team to identify and develop new products or services that meet customer needs and drive revenue growth. • Team Development: Developing and mentoring a high performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks that may impact revenue growth, including market risks, regulatory risks, and operational risks. • Reporting and Analysis: Providing regular reports and analysis to senior management on revenue performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement. • People Management - • Healthy and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies for the Leica entity. • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. MAJOR CHALLENGES / PROBLEM SOLVING: • Creation of a new group within the business • Dealing with conflicting priorities • Managing delivery under pressure and in conjunction with other stakeholders • Finding innovative solutions to maximize value delivered to customers when faced with restrictions in available resources or time. • Remaining attuned to the Market • Managing diversity • Managing across time zones DECISIONS EXPECTED: Own Authority • Management of an agreed regional budget • Approval of expenditure within the approved budget being mindful of the overall performance of the company – revenue and EBIT • Setting of priorities within overall priority listing QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION: • BTECH / Degree (NQF Level 7) Mining Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Geology/Metallurgy • Post graduate MBA/ MBL/ Leadership Program • GCC (Mines and Works) • 5 years Senior Management experience • 5 years' work experience in a Operational Mining environment Experience • Experience in mining or related industry advantageous. • Successful track record in a similar project or product management role • Demonstrated experience working as part of a product development process. • Proven leadership capabilities Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Commitment and results driven with a commercial focus, acting as a role model. • Management of a both technical and non-technical resources • Ability to commercially assess the viability of products. • Ability to work within a senior management team environment. • Understanding of product and product development lifecycle • Understanding of the operation of a mine site and the business drivers of our customers • Experience with fleet management, GPS and machine automation technologies is a major advantage. • Strong documentation and communication skills (both written and verbal), including the ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. • Ability to analyse and communicate risks and apply strategies to minimise them • Demonstrated ability to proactively improve process whilst achieving outcomes with a commercial focus and in line with the business' strategic direction. • Ability to form strong relationships with peers and customers representing the company professionally. • Strong time management and prioritisation skills • Ability to set and meet team and individual goals and deadlines. • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment. • Ability to work autonomously or part of a team environment. • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks.
