Head Chef - Hoedspruit

Candidate Requirements:
  • Grade 12 and Culinary qualification/certification
  • At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience as a Head Chef in a luxury lodge environment
  • Strong creativity and passion for culinary arts, with a focus on diverse cuisines and modern cooking techniques
  • Must be experienced in menu development for various customer needs
  • Be able to attend supplier meetings, conduct price comparisons and quality-checking
  • Must have exceptional leadership skills, be a mentor and be able to train the junior kitchen staff
  • Excellent attention to detail and excellent hygiene principles
  • Must be able to cater for large functions up to 150 guests for weddings, birthdays, conferences, etc.
  • Must be experienced in working service for an a la carte restaurant which serves breakfast & lunch
  • Must be well-equipped and experienced to get orders moving fast and consistently
  • Must be fully computer literate and have working knowledge of Excel (costings & inventory management)
  • Must be hardworking, willing to work flexible and sometimes long work hours when there are functions (Essential)
  • be willing to do FOH and BOH duties such as check-in/out of guests, Guest Relations and managing the lodge in the Lodge Manager's absence
