MBV IT is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of fibre optic technology to oversee the day-to-day operations of our FTTH infrastructure. You'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our network, from planning and deployment through to maintenance and troubleshooting. Provide technical expertise on all aspects of fibre build and construction, this includes all civils, cabling and splicing/testing activities and as-build documentation Oversee the day-to-day operations of the FTTH network. This includes proactive maintenance activities, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring optimal network performance Lead internal and third part sub-contractors teams to deliver the build programme Supervising network deployment(underground and aerial). Provide guidance to Planners, ensuring that they understand the project requirements. Manage Team of internal fibre optic technicians Performing and Supervising work quality, civil work, cable splicing, test and quality check Planning and implementation of network expansions Planning and implementation of preventive risk and escalation management Implement strategies to improve the availability of FTTH networks Implement cost management initiatives Lead Emergency response: Address critical outages and restore communication lines promptly. Documentation and reporting: Maintain detailed records of network performance, repairs, and project updates. Matric and Post Matric qualification in Engineering or IT Studies Minimum 6 years technical experience within the fibre or telecommunications industry At least 3 years year leadership in building and operations of FTTH networks Proven track record of successfully deploying and maintaining FTTH networks. Strong understanding of fiber optic technology, including network components, testing procedures, and industry standards. Excellent project management and leadership skills. Experience in managing and collaborating with subcontractors. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Salary is Negotiable
