Shock Wave Engineering (Pty) Ltd develops and implements IOT monitoring and control systems in agricultural and industrial applications. The systems consist of: Embedded controllers with mesh data radios and cellular communications Various sensors and outputs Setting configuration via the cloud Recording of data in the cloud We are looking for a technician to perform workshop and field work. The work will cover the following fields: Instrumentation including: Pressure sensors Temperature sensors 3 phase power meters Ultrasonic flow meters Load cells Variable Speed Drive (VSD) setup and commissioning Pump control and operation Mesh data radio networking Embedded control systems On site installation and commissioning Cloud monitoring and control Factory assembly and testing Key Objectives Workshop based: Assemble control systems based on process manual and drawings Equipment correctly wired Configure systems Equipment works correctly Test according to Factory Acceptance Test Pack and Ship Housekeeping Tools returned to storage area Stock neatly arranged and accounted for Minimum stock levels maintained No rush orders from suppliers Site Based: Arrange site visit with client Agreed installation date Agreed system shutdown time and duration Client performs their required scope of work prior to required date Prepare tools and materials All tools and equipment transported to site Drive safely to and from site No accidents Highly defensive driving is required Vehicle is serviced on time; Tyres and oil levels are maintained Install equipment Safe isolation of electrical and mechanical equipment Mounting of hardware neatly and to specification Square / level Accessible for operators Secure routing of cables Commissioning of control system and the pumping system Make sure the control system works correctly Make sure the pumping system (or other) works correctly Train operators Make sure that client staff and operate the system Make sure that there is a failure mitigation plan Achieve objectives with 1 trip to site System maintenance Fault finding Identification and Replacement of failed equipment Not removing working equipment Returning incorrectly removed equipment to service Code 08 drivers license Tertiary qualification in electrical or electronic engineering or control and instrumentation.
