JUNIOR ASSISTANT RESERVE MANAGEMENT COUPLE - Addo

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate. Higher qualifications will be an advantage.
  • 3 Years Game Farm & Reserve management experience.
  • Diploma in Wildlife conservation and Farm management would be an advantage.
  • Trained and Qualified Field Guide for Eastern Cape National Parks is an Advantage and will be a requirement.
  • A Professional Hunters License will be an advantage and a requirement.
  • Must have excellent people skills to interact with guests.
  • Valid code 8 drivers license, Professional Driving Permit and own transport.
  • Management of Accommodation Facilities and Guests is imperative.
  • Good Management of a Restaurant, Bar Facilities and Culinary Skills is vitally important.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Reserve Duties:
  • Total Management of the Wildlife; Wildlife Feeding, Water Facilities; Veld Management; Road Networks; etc.
  • Assisting the reserve manager in day-to-day activities in the running of the reserve. Management of the work teams. Conducting fence inspections to check the integrity of boundaries.
  • Assist in security and antipoaching operations.
  • Responsible for monthly reports on the staff, vehicles, water and electricity, fencing, game, ect. Manage the capture and relocation of game, as and when required / and / or the supervision or oversee the process when conducted by professionals.
  • Maintain the infrastructure that includes all buildings, vehicles and implements, fences, roads, tools, pumps, irrigation, dams, radio and camera networks and security systems and repair, report and plan for any incidents.
  • Report to the reserve manager weekly on operational and management activities.
  • Manage staff complement and allocate daily duties.
  • Conduct game drives on Addo Elephant National Park.
  • Conduct game drives and bushwalks on the Reserve.
  • Assist in hunting and/or culling operations on the Reserve.

Lodge duties:
  • Hosting of guests
  • Act as relief Reserve and Lodge management when necessary.
  • Responsible for any and all requirements for the effective running of the reserve and lodges. Responsible for the management of the housekeeping staff.
  • Responsible for the ordering of stock.
  • Assist in catering for all guests.
  • Assist with tending to guests, game drives, hospitality as and when required.
  • Ensure adherence to contracts and agreements in place by all parties.
