An exciting opportunity has become available within the Medical Device industry, for a Junior Design Engineer. The position is based in Cape Town. This candidate will join a design team of 4, developing the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Delivery System. Research, concept development, product design and development Able to work independently but also work as part of a team Manufacturing of device concepts Testing of device concepts Liaising with suppliers and 3rd parties for manufacturing of components (custom mechanical parts, tooling, stock parts, etc.) Set up test protocols and orderly documenting of all developments/experiments run Maintaining design history and technical file documentation, which includes test protocol writing, testing and test report writing Compliance with medical device regulatory requirements BSc. Eng or MSc. Eng in Mechanical/Mechatronic/Biomedical Engineering 0 - 1 years of design experience, preferably within the medical device field Proficient in 3-D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) Can work independently and within a team Good communication skills (verbal and written)
