We are recruiting for a Junior/Mid Weight Graphic Designer for our client within the womens personal care industry based in Umhlanga. You will be required to work independently and take ownership of your workflow. You will need to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changing needs. Previous packaging, printing and point-of-sale experience is highly recommended, and experience working on cosmetic or personal care brands will be advantageous . Please ensure that you send the following documentation as part of your application: • Updated CV • Matric Certificate • Academic Transcripts Portfolio Responsibilities: - Produce graphic visualisation and mock-ups of products and point-of-sale installations. - Design product packaging and labels from concept to print-ready artwork. - Insert translations into product packaging and labels for export markets. - Design instore point-of-sale items from concept through to the finished product and all intermediate stages. - Design monthly sales support items like price tickets, trade presenters and catalogues. - Undertake design of print and promotional materials from concept to production ready artwork. - Undertake deep-etching and retouching of product images for use in marketing and sales collateral. - Undertake proofing process of packaging prior to print. - Manage and keep up to date any in-house image libraries. - Maintain in-house competitive intelligence and branding. - Work with marketing team to supply marketing material, both printed and online. - Keep up-to-date with graphic design software and tools - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of printing processes and adhere to delivery as required. Requirements: - 3-year National Diploma in Graphic Design or equivalent - 2-5 years' experience at an agency or in a corporate design team - Understanding of repro principles and print processes - Ability to take jobs from concept through to finished art - Proficiency on Mac OS - Adobe Creative Cloud applications, specifically Illustrator & Photoshop on a Mac - Excellent eye for detail and meticulous about craftmanship of work - Great time management skills and work ethic - Ability to hit the ground running and work independently Personal Skills/Attributes: The successful applicant needs to be deadline driven, diligent, energetic and have a positive attitude. They need to be highly organised and keen to learn and improve upon their experience and skills
