Legal Advisor Market related - Tier 1 - Johannesburg

A Leading, global organization is actively seeking a legal Advisor to join their successful team. The incumbent should be an admitted attorney with exceptional contract drafting and commercial/corporate law experience. Environmental law would be beneficial. Draft, amend, edit and review standard commercial agreements Vet, review and negotiate various commercial agreements over a broad spectrum including the qualification of tender documents (for example service level, leases, IT, off-take, procurement agreements) as well as agreements pertaining to mergers and acquisitions, shareholders agreements, joint ventures and associated agreements Manage various matters such as property transactions, IP matters and the like Provide general legal advice and opinions to senior management on a wide range of matters Facilitate business transactions with a specialised focus on content rights acquisition and intellectual property Provide expertise and advice on legal aspects of corporate decisions, policies and plans Assist with legal and regulatory compliance; dispute resolutions, settlement negotiations and discussions Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on the various aspects of the business Conduct legal training Manage civil and commercial litigation as well as dispute resolution Liaise with external legal counsel where necessary MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: B. Com, LLB– must be an admitted attorney Valid Code 8 Drivers licence MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: 8-10 years commercial legal experience. At least 4-5 years post articles legal experience, preferably within a multinational company in a similar role. Candidate must have sound corporate experience outside of practice.
