HUstLe HULove ABOUT THE ROLE: At HUL International, we're not just looking for a Logistics Clerk; we're seeking a detail-oriented professional who can navigate the intricacies of outbound logistics with precision and efficiency. Join us in our dynamic environment, where your role extends beyond routine logistics tasks – it's about ensuring on-time deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and driving excellence in every aspect of our logistics operations. WHO YOU ARE: A detail-oriented individual with a passion for logistics and a commitment to excellence. Proficient in coordinating distribution processes and managing documentation. Skilled in negotiation, communication, and problem-solving. Excellent planning and organising, adept at managing multiple tasks and deadlines. Someone who brings positivity, adaptability, and a keen eye for detail to every aspect of logistics management. Customer Delivery Requirements: Digest and communicate customer delivery requirements to internal teams. Ensure pre-delivery controls are in place to meet all customer requirements. Execution of Distribution Processes: Coordinate transportation cycles and manage internal stakeholders along the distribution critical path. Book delivery appointments and plan customer deliveries efficiently. Bookings and Documentation: Book HUL or 3PL transporters in line with required critical paths. Prepare delivery documents and ensure all supporting documentation is in order. CHEP Pallet Management: Manage CHEP account activities, including planning, issuing, returns, transfers, and reconciliations. Maintain a local transport schedule for reporting and auditing purposes. Troubleshooting and Adaptability: Assist in resolving queries related to planning, delivery, or billing, both internally and externally. Proactively identify and address problems, escalating when necessary. Stakeholder Relationship Development: Build strong relationships with customers, service partners, and internal stakeholders. Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders, anticipating their needs and making recommendations where necessary. POD Governance and Maintenance: Ensure all deliveries have a signed Proof of Delivery (POD) before the transporter leaves the delivery centre. Regularly review POD status and reconcile weekly, escalating any issues as needed. Strong organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, ensuring smooth logistics operations. Excellent communication skills: Proficient in verbal and written communication to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers. Negotiation skills: Capable of negotiating terms with suppliers and transporters to ensure cost-effective and efficient logistics solutions. Attention to detail: Ability to maintain accurate records, documentations, and PODs, ensuring compliance with all customer specifications. Problem-solving skills: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving logistics-related issues promptly, ensuring excellent customer service. Knowledge of logistics processes: Familiarity with SOPs and logistics frameworks to execute outbound logistics functions seamlessly. Proficiency in administrative tasks: Skilful in handling administrative duties such as booking delivery appointments, managing documentation, and maintaining records. Analytical skills: Ability to analyse logistics data, track performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement in logistics operations. Interpersonal skills: Capacity to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust. Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and environments, ensuring flexibility in managing logistics tasks effectively ​​​​​​​ Qualifications: Matric certificate. Tertiary qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is advantageous. Relevant work experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain management, demonstrating proficiency in logistics operations. Knowledge of logistics software and systems, such as warehouse management systems (WMS) or transportation management systems (TMS), is desirable.
