Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic M&A Law Director to join their boutique law firm based in Johannesburg. The firm boasts a loyal client base consisting of blue-chip corporates, private companies, and individual clients. The ideal candidate will bring a portable practice or have extensive experience in managing existing client relationships, particularly in the realm of mergers and acquisitions. Responsibilities: 1. Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, including blue-chip corporates, private companies, and individual clients. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic advice and guidance on M&A matters. 2. Mergers & Acquisitions Expertise: Lead and oversee all aspects of mergers and acquisitions transactions, from due diligence to negotiation and closing. Provide expert legal advice on complex M&A issues, including regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and transaction structuring. 3. Business Development: Drive business development efforts to expand the firm's client base and revenue streams. Identify opportunities for cross-selling legal services to existing clients and develop tailored strategies to meet their needs. 4. Team Leadership and Collaboration: Mentor and support junior lawyers within the M&A practice group, providing guidance and fostering their professional development. Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients. 5. Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and market dynamics within the M&A landscape. Contribute thought leadership content through articles, presentations, and participation in industry events to enhance the firm's reputation and visibility. 5 years proper M&A experience at a top tier firm doing M&A transactional work. LLB and Admitted Attorney.
