Mechanical Design Engineer - Cape Town City Centre
Generating concept, basic, and detail designs for various equipment
Developing manufacturing information for basic design and engineering packages, ensuring compliance with specifications, rules, and regulations
Collaborating with the Lead Engineer to revise engineering packages and perform necessary mechanical design calculations
Providing technical support to the Procurement department
Contributing input for progress reporting, costing, and project planning
Translating product standards and requirements into technical specifications
Cultivating an enjoyable working environment and promoting cooperation among team members
Skills & Experience:
Proficiency with software such as Femap, Ansys, AutoCAD, Teamcenter, SolidEdge, and ERP System (IFS preferred)
Comfort working with automated systems
Ability to work independently
Familiarity with dredging and/or offshore markets (desirable)
Understanding of modern engineering processes and methods
Qualification:
BEng/BSc/BTech in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 2-5 years within Mining, Oil and Gas, Mineral Processing, or Heavy Engineering sectors
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
