We are looking for a Qualified Mechanical Plant Engineer to play a pivotal role in minimizing plant downtime, maximizing equipment reliability, and extending machinery operating life, by implement strategic asset care strategies to ensure world-class engineering principles and safety regulations are met. Qualifications and Skills Required: Bachelor's degree or BSc in Mechanical Engineering/or Mechatronics Engineering from a recognized university. Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance and projects in FMCG manufacturing plants. Training and practical experience in planned and predictive maintenance principles, with at least three years of management experience. Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Projects, Visio, and Autocad. Knowledge of OHS Act, BCEA, and other legal requirements. Key Responsibilities: Plan, direct, and coordinate activities related to equipment design, construction, modification, and maintenance. Establish standards for installation, quality control, testing, and inspection according to engineering best practices and safety regulations. Select and confirm engineering vendors/contractors' capability and qualifications for specified work. Deliver capital and maintenance projects within budget and timeline constraints. Technical Expertise: Experience with heavy and light, high and low-speed, rotating and stationary equipment, auxiliary and associated equipment. Ability to read and develop mechanical, electrical, and PID drawings. Familiarity with ERP, CMMS, and MRO systems. Personal Attributes: Self-starter with superior analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills. Computer literate with excellent communication and leadership qualities. High integrity and ability to make decisions under pressure. Willingness to work outside normal hours and delegate effectively.
