ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Applicants must have completed their doctoral degrees within the last five years.
- Must have graduated with a PhD degree in Veterinary Science, Veterinary epidemiology and Development Studies, or Economics
- Should be an expert in conducting cross-disciplinary research on developmental issues.
- Alternatively, should be an expert who can quantify food (meat/milk) losses in the food value chain and possess skills in animal disease modeling.
- Preference is given to Women, South African Citizens, and SA Permanent Residents.
- Successful applicants must be able to relocate to the UFH Alice campus for the duration of the fellowship.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
- Conduct innovative research on Livestock disease modeling, zoonosis, and antimicrobial drug resistance.
- Demonstrate relevant experience, understanding, and knowledge of Python and other statistical analytical tools.
- Contribute to the research productivity of the postgraduate students and the Department of Livestock and Pasture Science.
- Publish at least three (3) journal articles in DHET-accredited journals per annum.
