Purpose of the Job
- Oversee the groups raw materials procurement to ensure the stable acquisition of raw materials of acceptable quality at competitive pricing in a strategic context.
Minimum qualifications:
- Degree or National Diploma in Supply/Chain Management or BSC Engineering
- 8 years relevant experience, preferably 2 years managerial experience
- Experience in mining, construction or manufacturing will be preferred.
- Demonstrate understanding of Supply Chain management
- Demonstrate understanding of Raw material requirements
- Ability to handle conflict and negotiation
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing the forecasting process
- Communicate approved forecasts with supplier
- Manage the team
- Weekly reports to inform operational decisions and drive procurement improvement
- Creating reports with focus areas for business improvement
- Analysing data to answer strategic and operational questions posed by the business on procurement related issues
- Data validation and integrity testing
- Data cleansing and data modelling
- Support existing customers via email, chat and/or phone calls
- Monitor support channels and provide first line support
- Escalate support when necessary
- Help identify and define improvements to processes and tools to better support customers
- Develop effective forecast models based on trends and demand patterns
- Calculate stock volume requirements according to minimum order quantities, stock-on-hand, promotional requirements, price increases etc
- Propose and implement solutions and inventory estimations to Management
- Place and follow up on stock ordered with suppliers
- Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to Management
- Liaise with receiving regarding slot times, discrepancies, stock not ordered, short-supplied stock, bookings etc
- Identify and report overstocks together with support to sales team in regard to exit strategy
- Identify and report short-dated and expired stock
- Assist with queries regarding POs & GRV (receiving department)
- Fill in for team members on leave
- Solve Ad hoc inventory issues/queries
