A corrugated packaging manufacturing compamy that is based out of New Germany is looking for a Production and Inventory Planner. The purpose of this position is to ensure effective planning, coordination and control of the supply chain and manufacturing processes and the general control and administration of the Raw Material Warehouse. This includes making sure that all materials are received in good order, that the production schedule and plan (overseen and created by the planner) is adhered to, and that communication between all necessary role players is a priority. Production planning and implementation is critical to ensure the production process runs smoothly and efficiently and that orders are completed on time. Major tasks include but are not limited to: Attend daily production meetings. Communicate with suppliers on any reject issues. Manage the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines. Manage material and equipment availability, scheduling production and monitoring the production process. Liaise with sales division to determine customer requirements and communicate any delays, in advance. Develop a production schedule detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by in order to meet required completion date. Communicate with customers if the need arises. Overseeing that stock levels are kept to a minimum optimal value. Organising of schedules, paperwork and record keeping and ensuring that sales orders are generated timeously. Review finished goods stock levels daily. Oversee receiving and ensure materials issued are not reject. Ensure night shift materials are issued and signed for and that night shift are aware of what needs to be made during the shift. Review daily productivity to ensure planned targets are achieved – if not report accordingly. The following is required and not negotiable: Matric certificate. Diploma or higher in engineering, production and operations management. Working knowledge of the OHS act. Health and safety experience. Minimum of 3 years manufacturing planning experience with packaging manufacturing being advantageous. Quality Control experience. Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (intermediate to advanced). Knowledge of Pastel is advantageous. Supervisory experience. The following skills are important: Being able to work under pressure.
