Our client within the FMCG Manufacturing sector is seeking a dynamic and well experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the Engineering team. The Senior Project Engineer will plan the technical side of investment projects ensuring a design for manufacturing excellence (free of waste) and lead the execution (from investment project charter until vertical start-up) by working with a cross-functional team whose objective is to oversee the capital investments relating to the company's fixed assets. This could involve the relocation and optimization of the existing fixed asset base and/or the purchase of new fixed assets. Ensures that the objectives of the investment project charter, design specifications and company standards are implemented and adhered to Before starting the project design phase: Define the project scope, success criteria, and milestone deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Build the investment project charter that includes the resources plan including a multifunctional project team required to accomplish the project manufacturing excellence targets. Ensure available standards and best practices, as well as understanding of current category loss tree are revised as part of the project planning, to ensure that project design credit (AIP) will be efficiently utilized. Organize and store paperwork, documents and computer-based information, research and retrieve relevant information required. During project design phase: Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on Company Corporate Business Principles, Company standards, local regulations, the defined User Requirements Specifications and the TPM characteristics of a unit operation (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability and reliability). Ensure by design the workers, and operators, safety during both the construction and the ongoing operation of the plant. Support the design team to accomplish the basic and detailed design, whilst mobilising all the required resources and liaising with stakeholders. Lead VSED activity and coordinate the preparation of supply chain concept. Support the Development of an Operation Start-up Plan to ensure a Vertical Start-up can be achieved. Ensure the required design reviews are effective and collaborative to gain final alignment on the basic design. During the project implementation phase: Ensure that the engineering side of the project is implemented (e.g. buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS and the characteristics of a unit operation. Ensure that all of the elements of the project (including technical people training, as needed) in performed in such a way that safety is always guaranteed on the whole project site and that a vertical start-up is assured. Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that Company standards are applied. During the whole project life: Be the project team leader, meaning integrating, motivating, feed backing, coaching, developing, managing and evaluating team members and being their support and liaison with the steering committee and all the project's stakeholders. Define the project change management plans. Determine the need for change requests, and either approve or reject changes as authorised or submit them to the SC. Ensure that the highest principles of ethical conduct on behalf of the community, consumer, company and the engineering profession are adhered to. Keep all stakeholders informed and trigger extraordinary steering committee meetings as needed. Keep all the required communication channels open. Ensure that the procedures for protecting Company's technological and proprietary know-how are in place and actively being implemented. Degree/Diploma in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, E&A, Process, Industrial) 10 minimum years' experience in FMCG managing ENGINEERING projects. Managing Capital Investment projects in food industry (” making it happen”) 10 years experience in an international project environment context within which, projects were defined and budgeted, assessed and implemented (entire project lifecycle) Behavior Based Safety application Factory operations experience (as required) Operations & Start-up Leader experience (as required) Participation in a Early Management , MCIP and NGHE workshop Preparation of a major CAPEX project submission (NIMT) Integration of project teams; definitions of roles and responsibilities (resource management) Project planning (as per PMI definition) Effective communication at different levels of the organization (Business, Management, R&D, etc.) People development and management tools (including PDP, coaching, competences training, career and succession planning, recruitment and development) KNOWLEDGE, Project management accreditation: Technical Instructions & Guidelines Management System; Sound understanding of contracts, construction law and permitting requirements; Engineering and Manufacturing: Company Engineering activities, including Toolkit (NEMT, NSAT, etc); Project Engineering; Plant Design and Construction, and CAPEX cycle (budget preparation and project justification in CIAT, AMM PS); Understanding of Electricity, Control and Automation. Including MES; Company proprietary technology; Maintenance and Projects Management and Planning, including TPM, AMM (decision support and reporting tools), MS Project; Innovation & Renovation process Company Leadership Principles and Group organization: Company Management & Leadership Principles, Company on the Move, Company Leadership Framework and Company Corporate Business Principles Company product and process technologies - with PTC & Factories experience Financial and budget analysis and tracking: Knowledge of Costing Guidelines and Finance & Accounting principles Food plant principles and hygienic engineering: Food processing plants and technologies (Maintenance and Utilities), food safety, hygienic engineering Company SHE standards Company quality, regulatory, IP and business standards (S): QM Policies (including among others NGHE, NEMS, NSAT, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) TPM and Early Management at Company Apply Now
