Currently looking for a Project Leader for a Registered Animal Trust to be based at Victoria Falls. It is for a Zimbabwean registered charitable trust, and a US registered foundation, with a vision of an Africa in which animals and humans coexist in a balanced environment. Any candidates must be passionate about conservation, the Bush, animals as well as having outstanding leadership and commercial skills. Whilst first choice would be to find a Zimbabwean for this position, it may be possible for to get a work permit for somebody with the right experience and expertise. The Project Leader will be responsible for the day to day management of the activities of the Trust as well as being responsible for achieving the strategic goals of the Trust as set by the Board of Trustees. 1. The candidate needs to be effective in these areas; Marketing – able to effectively promote the project and attract more commercial participants in the program. Management – able to effectively control and manage the day to day activities of the Trust. Finance – able to effectively manage the finances of the Trust. Leadership – able to effectively lead the organization in achieving its strategic goals. Communication – able to communicate effectively the trust vision and goals with all stakeholders, participants and supporters. Knowledge – able to become very knowledgeable on animal welfare, conservation and human coexistence issues and debates. Analysis – able to analyse situations effectively and come up with solutions that work 2. The candidate needs to possess these personal qualities; Passionate – about animal conservation and the strategic goals of the Trust. Knowledgeable - about conservation and coexistence issues Inspiring – able to communicate the story of the Trust to others and inspire them to give their support to the Trust. Organised – works in a clear and structured way. Analytical – able to analyse results and problems in a systematic manner and find ways to improve performance and overcome challenges. Specific responsibilities; 1.1 Leadership & Management; Effectively lead and manage the day-to-day affairs of the Trust including; a. Sales and Marketing. b. Operations. c. Finance & Administration. d. Safety. e. HR . f. IT. 1.2 Strategy Development and Execution; i. To draft and present to the Board of Trustees, the annual strategic plan for the trust in alignment with the trusts vision. ii. Upon approval by the Board of Trustees, implement and execute the strategic plan and achieve the strategic goals. 1.3 Fund Raising and Financial Management; i. Develop and implement a fund-raising plan to ensure that all the Trusts operating costs are covered and that there are surplus funds that can be used to further advance the vision of the Trust. ii. Budgeting. iii. Financial Reporting. iv. Cash Flow Management. v. Cost Control. vi. Statutory compliance. 1.4 Marketing, PR & Communication; i. Effectively communicate the aims and objectives of the trust to stakeholders, donors, potential participants and publics. ii. Expand and develop the profile and image of the trust through websites, social media, print media and other media channels. iii. Wherever possible maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, publics and interested parties. 2. Immediate goals and focus; 2.1 The immediate and overriding focus needs to be in achieving financial sustainability, which is to say that the trust should be able to generate sufficient funding to meet all its requirements. 2.2 This will be achieved in four ways; i. By increasing commercial participants on the tourism experience. ii. By achieving voluntary donations secured from participants on the tourism experience iii. By converting commercial participants into long-term financial supporters iv. By successfully launching the participation (volunteer) programme 3. Reporting structure; 3.1 The PL will report directly to the Board of Trustees or the appointed representative of the Board of Trustees. 3.2 The PL will have direct authority over the team and will be reported to by the various department heads.
