Job purpose: Designs, configures, test telecommunication circuits. Oversees small to medium complex circuit provisioning orders. Test the working condition of equipment to confirm working status. Efficiently and effectively implement RMA process where necessary, through to completion. Critical Outputs: Accepts orders via work-flow management system. Converts customer and/or pre-sales requirement to telecommunication provisioned circuits. Allocates IP and VLAN scheme for the circuits to be provisioned. Configures radio equipment. Configures routers and switches. Updates all relevant data bases and monitoring systems. Provides tier-2 fault escalations. Ensuring that correct procedures are followed for all equipment handed in for testing. Isolating problems with faulty equipment. Compiling Lab Tests Reports for all equipment tested. Updating all spreadsheets as may be required from time to time. Loading all working tested equipment with latest firmware and configuring the same with default IP addresses and in factory default configuration. Ensure vendor specific RMA process are being followed. Effectively communicating with vendors/repair agents to be informed of where specific equipment is in the RMA process and be able to report on this at any given point. Keeping all test equipment and test area in serviceable and neat condition. Efficiently and effectively implement RMA process where necessary, through to completion. Test the working condition of equipment to confirm working status. Assisting the warehouse department with stock-taking and stock-flow. Ensure Comsol H&S is always adhered to. Ensure technical abilities are always to company standards. Meet position KPI. Requirements: Degree/Diploma in Information technology or equivalent Minimum of 3 years in provisioning Proven experience in networking and telecoms sector Radio frequency / Microwave experience is essential A N ITIL CCNA/CCNP Knowledge of RF test equipment Alcatel experience a benefit Competencies : Ability to work independently Good verbal and written communication skills Effective problem solving Team player Ability to prioritize Task / goal driven Teamwork Planning and organizing Result- and deadline-driven Ability to multitask Good interpersonal skill Ability to take initiative Good verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented Integrity Ability to undertake self-study in order to keep abreast of developments to existing company products and new products
