Responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of diesel-powered trucks, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of diesel engines, and truck systems, and strong troubleshooting abilities. Diagnosis and Repairs: Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel trucks. Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, and other truck components. Address and resolve complex technical problems efficiently. Repair breakdowns in the field. Routine Maintenance: Execute regular preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks. Inspect and service diesel engines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs. Troubleshooting: Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues promptly. Analyse and interpret technical manuals and diagrams to diagnose and repair problems accurately. Quality Assurance: Ensure all repairs meet industry standards and comply with safety regulations. Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues and recommend proactive maintenance. Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including parts and service departments, to coordinate repairs and maintain effective communication. Provide guidance and support to apprentice mechanics when needed. Good Communication and Interpersonal skills. Ability to work individually as well as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines. Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment Ability to be Quality driven and focused, and have an attention to detail. Bilingual (English & Afrikaans). Completion of a diesel mechanic program or relevant certification. Proven experience as a Diesel Truck Mechanic. Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, and various truck systems. Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems in diesel trucks. A valid Driver's License. Apply Now
