We are committed to employee development, performance excellence, and maintaining a positive workplace culture. • Payroll processing from time sheets up to the pay run (Pastel payroll experience will be advantageous) • Assist in the compilation and submission of Mining Charter and Social and Labour Plan (SLP) Reports, as well as all other statutory and regulatory reports and programmes. • Take responsibility for the compilation, review and submission of the SLP, including Human Resource Development Plan (linked to Workplace Skills Development and Employment Equity) and Local Economic Development Plan. • Statutory and Regulatory liaison, including interfacing of such items as may be required on the SHEQ system, such as but not limited to the training planning and training programmes, etc. • Set up, maintenance and reporting of all HR as per the Payroll System. • LED and Future Forum functions. • General office and functional administration, including documentation for management. • Maintenance of the organograms and structures in liaison with Snr Management. • Maintain all employee records • Maintain a company database of all policies and procedures • Conduct disciplinary hearings and act as company complainant in all proceedings • Recruitment: Involved in interviewing and arrangements of all recruitment activities such as sourcing lower level employees as well as background and reference checks and data collection. • Monitor staff attendance activities • Be able to assist in all HR requests from management including sourcing information, drawing up documentation and providing feedback within the HR scope. • Contributes to the planning and implementation of the performance management process that impacts high labor productivity • Actively foster and support the development of a high-performance working culture within a unionized environment • Apply Sustainability principles through attraction, development, and retention of the required skills • Ensure that accurate job descriptions are in place • Compile a training plan for the staff • Identify training and development opportunities • Process employee requests for outside training while complying with procedures • Provide basic counselling to staff who have problems • Provide staff orientations • Ensures continuous and relevant / appropriate HR services in the operation at all times • Manage leadership engagement and HR function programs • Oversee HR requests integration/prioritization and HR services facilitation • Contributes towards the operations performance in line with the set and revised business plans • Ensures Operation complies with all obligations / legislation / regulation in so far as all Labor laws are concerned • Leads and manages the performance of own team in order to achieve objectives • Manages the resources and outputs of the function in the operation including labor, budgets, and wellness • Provides independent and quality HR service & support; and influence to managers and employees in helping to resolve any people related enquiries • Provides ER advice and supports to employees / managers in progressing disciplinary and grievance matters; whereby a healthy working environment is realized • Proactively liaises with colleagues in other sub-functions of HR for any specialist support required by own operation • Challenge existing processes, programs and work in the light of HR in order to contribute to a highly effective working environment, incorporating ways of working, future of work, operating model, etc. • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an HR Officer role with: • Minimum of 2 years in Middle Management • Experience in a Mining or processing environment
