Senior Billing Operations Engineer ( VoIP) As Senior Billing Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for all core infrastructure and technical delivery of Billing services. This includes billing infrastructure in terms of development, deployment, uptime, maintenance, optimisation and evolution. You will be required to interact successfully with other areas of the business. The success of this role is dependent on the continued uptime and stability of all Billing infrastructure. There are additional key expectations around: input to technical strategy, market evolution, client engagement, vendor engagement, support and engagement of commercial functions including support for product development. Roles and Responsibilities: Your primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: ● Build mediation rules and usage flow into the billing system, continually refining to ensure optimal performance ● Rating analysis and investigation ● Perform margin analysis on accounts ● Research customer charges and ensure they are applied correctly ● Audit new company products/plans ● Implement necessary updates to customer rating ● Participate in cross functional partnerships with Fraud, Cost Assurance, IT teams and others to develop and ● implement best practices to minimize revenue leakage ● Analyze data/reports to identify opportunities for improvement ● Manage national and international calling underlying carriers including cost analysis and route optimisation ● Build and manage Billing processes and procedures ● Strategic direction on billing operations at co ● Migration from legacy billing system to new system ● Lead architecture discussions and integration into other systems ● Prepare monthly reports for Exco, detailing performance ● Develop and perform complex invoice analysis to identify errors, discrepancies, and opportunities for savings or revenue enhancement. ● Monitor, investigate and respond to irregularities or disputes from carriers, provide call records or other requested data, and work on resolutions with other departments and resellers. ● Provide trending and analysis of product / customer / premise information ● Maintaining, monitoring and optimising the billing servers and collaborating with vendors in this regard where necessary ● Maintaining, monitoring and optimising the billing databases and collaborating with vendors in this regard where necessary ● Engaging with vendors to resolve software bugs, test updates and perform maintenance tasks ● Maintaining and updating product catalogues ● Maintaining and updating call charge rates ● Ensuring that prefix lists are maintained ● Creating reports as required ● Attending to queries and escalations from internal and external stakeholders ● Attending to month-end billing and resolving any problems which may arise ● Revenue assurance tasks such as ensuring that cost effective call routes are utilized and that provisioned services are being billed for ● Keep up to date with new developments, bugs, software upgrades ● Attend to escalations logged with software vendors ● Develop technical documentation ● Maintain systems infrastructure ● Fault finding and analysis Qualifications, Experience and Skills ● 8 -
