We are recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. A Senior Process Engineer designs, oversees, assesses and implements processes that efficiently make products. The goal of a Senior Process Engineer is to create systems that make the best use of workers, machines, materials, information and energy. Executes the technical work required to industrialise new products, improve existing manufacturing processes or reduce costs of existing products without compromising the quality of the products and in accordance with sales/marketing projections and plans. Responsibilities and essential job function includes but are not limited to the following: Introduce new products, cradle to grave, following the concept, development, risk mitigation, qualification process, process safety and company's design guidelines for optimal manufacturing process and cost Design, implement and refine the manufacturing process that will be required during full-scale production Assess the specifications of equipment (manufacturing and testing) and new materials and determine tooling, fixtures, gauges requirements Plan the sequence of manufacturing operations and lay down quality control specifications Compile the manufacturing process documentation: standardized operating instructions, routers, Bill of Materials in MRP system and tooling plans Evaluate processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement Create process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates Design and test process upgrades and new systems Identify the failure mode effect of process Ensure operations comply with safety and quality standards Perform process simulations and troubleshoot issues Investigate production and quality problems, and introduce corrective actions Develop routines and best practices to ensure product quality Investigate/raise Engineering Change Requests and action promptly Provide customer support with regards to RFQs, considering manufacturing feasibility, accurate costing, and meeting customer requirements with quick turnaround time Initiate and execute capital investment projects Prepare monthly report feedback on project status Minimum: Engineering degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering. Preferred: Post graduate degree in Engineering. 4 years' experience in engineering with a proven record of product/process/equipment design experience. Exposure in high-volume manufacturing environment 3 - 5 years Supervisory/Management role Certifications / Training / Licences / Registrations: Project management Lean management Professional Engineer status (ECSA) Skills and Competencies: Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills Teamwork and interpersonal skills Project management skills Demonstrated exertise in solving highly-technical problems Strong technical writing ability, good verbal communication ability Ability to work on multiple projects on various stages simultaneoulsy Proficient with computer and information technology Knowledge: Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Lean Manufacturing Product Development Advanced knowledge of production machinery and processes Familiarity with health and safety regulations Knowledge of company ERP system and other company systems Knowledge of company systems and procedures Personal Attributes: Driven, confident, self-motivated and results orientated Proactive nature Creative Resilience Ability to persuade others to change existing practices Flexibility and ability to adapt to change Positive attitude Market Related.
