Service Technician - Johannesburg


Job description:
Technical problem diagnosis both remotely and on-site
On-site repairs, installations, and off-site remote troubleshooting
Preventative maintenance and repair of equipment in various industries
Effective communication of job-related topics
Set-up and troubleshooting of wired and wireless network-connected devices
Documentation of service calls
Management of spare parts inventory in the service vehicle
Proactive sales of service products and solutions
Ability to lift 35kg equipment intermittently and work in unusual climates (e.g., freezer rooms)

Skills & Experience:
Experience in repairing and installing PC-based devices or processor-controlled equipment, including weigh-price-labelling, inspection systems, and industrial scales
Proficiency in reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and spare part breakdowns
Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and diagnostics
Familiarity with TCP/IP based connections and other system bus protocols
Solid understanding of PC hardware, interface technology, and ethernet & network systems
Thorough knowledge of mechanics
Customer-focused with self-motivation and initiative
Ability to work under pressure with confidence and organizational skills
Reliable and flexible with working hours, including up to 75% travel within the service area
Valid drivers license and clean driving record

Qualification:
Associated degree or equivalent in Electrical/ Mechatronic Engineering
NRCS verification officer/repairer certification is a significant advantage
