A vacancy exists in the Utilities Business Unit in Isando for a Site Engineer reporting to the Engineering Manager . The main purpose of the role is to technically assist with the maintenance of boiler and boiler related equipment, perform technical investigations or reviews, and provide engineering support to boiler and boiler related equipment maintenance activities. This role will be site based (Matla Power Station) The Purpose of the position is to: Plan and manage engineering projects, and provide feedback on progress Manage progress according to task progress, time, cost, and quality Perform failure analysis of boiler tube failures and other boiler related equipment Analyse operation of boiler and boiler related equipment such as boiler pressure parts, milling plant, ducting and flue gas cleaning plant Develop scope of work for maintenance activities Perform plant maintenance review studies Update drawings and documents according to designs or studies Attend boiler tube failure task meetings and provide solutions to prevalent failures/problems Inspect the boiler, boiler structures and other boiler related equipment Develop component and design standards to improve service and product range Monitor technical success of engineering designs and recommendations Update engineering standards in accordance with feedback and development work Conceptual design and technical support during tender phase Oversee the compilation of the technical part of tender documents for major projects Minimum Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc, BEng or BTech) ECSA Registration preferred. Experience 5 years' experience in related technical field.
