Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role in IT.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with security concepts and best practices, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus.
Duties will include but is not limited to:
System Maintenance and Monitoring:
- Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of servers, networks, and other IT systems.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions to operations.
Infrastructure Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components, including servers, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Manage virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V to optimize server resources and improve scalability.
Security Implementation:
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's systems and data from unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats.
- Conduct regular security audits and apply patches and updates as needed to address vulnerabilities.
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Develop and implement backup strategies to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data.
- Create and test disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss and recovery time in the event of system failures or disasters.
User Support and Training:
- Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues and assisting with system configurations.
- Develop and deliver training materials to educate users on IT best practices and procedures.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, and compliance with IT policies and regulations
