Purpose of the role: To be a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and the executive management team. To manage the relationship with Group HR and Corporate Services, in partnership with Executive Managers to provide professional HR services and solutions that support the business. To develop workforce plans that support the business and organisational strategy and agenda. To drive the development, integration and implementation of corporate HR policy and practice. To establish and maintain effective and efficient workforce practices and relations within the business. Minimum Requirements: A minimum of a Degree in Human Resource Management At least 10 years' experience as a HR generalist , of which 5 must be in a senior advisory/ managerial role. Valid Code EB drivers' license Required Knowledge: Organisational development methodologies Labour legislation and practices HR practices and principles Business processes Skills development legislation Health and safety legislation Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to): Strategy Operationalisation: Work with the Managing Director and executive team, the Group HR Director and the Group Corporate Service Director to co-create the national HR strategy, based on a 3-5 year view of requirements. Work closely with the Group HR managers, business partners and cross-functional management teams to ensure the delivery of an integrated HRM strategy. Drive end-to-end human resource management practices and systems and monitor related performance across the business. Consult with the business on people requirements - facilitate, advise and get operationally involved where appropriate. Consolidate operational capacity requirements across both the medium and the long term. Ensure agreed strategic goals are implemented through team targets and that these targets align cross-functionally within the area of responsibility. Network and build relationships across the Group, particularly at the senior and executive management levels. Workforce Strategy and Plan Formulation: Work in partnership with the Executive management to establish the HR strategies and plans necessary to support the achievement of strategic targets. Work closely with Group HR management to identify and develop future staffing and talent needs. Monitor the achievement of strategies and plans and adjust, when necessary. Administration and Reporting: Be a member of the Executive board and fulfill the associated responsibilities. Compile and submit management and statutory reports relating to human resource management for the business. Talent Attraction, Management and Development: Oversee the recruitment, selection and appointment process across the business, ensuring that the right person for the job is appointed. Analyse workforce information and productivity measures and work with business executive managers to establish an effective performance management and appraisal system. Analyse the results of the process and facilitate the implementation of interventions to improve performance results. Oversee the succession planning process across the business. Manage the achievement of employment equity targets across the business. Oversee terminations and exits according to policy guidelines. Identify specific employment and development issues from workforce trends and staff feedback mechanisms. Assist with driving the development and implementation of training, mentoring and coaching programmes. Monitor and assess the impact of the training on business performance. Change Management: Lead (and project manage) key HR initiatives and change programmes to ensure that they are delivered in accordance with agreed requirements realising effective coordination of people and resources. Ensure that, as appropriate, such initiatives are embedded and the benefits realised. Lead the process of staff involvement. Facilitate the creation of strong communication plans to ensure clarity, understanding, and alignment of business initiatives. Act as a catalyst for building organisational effectiveness across the business. Coaching: Enhance leadership capability through workforce models and development of people management skills. Increase organisational competence through mediation and other techniques. Support executive management in fostering a supportive culture through appropriate initiatives. Coach executive management on best practices of building an effective team in conjunction with the appropriate HR expertise. This position is based in Centurion, but domestic travel is required.
