Phakisa Holdings is currently seeking a Temp Microbiologist in the Jet Park area. Schedule sample testing in microbiology laboratory. Skilled in aseptic techniques. Execute Microbiology test, method validation, instrument qualification. OOS investigation and documentation experience. Author Environmental monitoring reports and review Microbiology data generated from test results. Manage media inventory management ensuring lab needs are met. Perform autoclave and media kettle operation and training of staff. Assist Operations with rollout/operation of SOP management. Perform sterility testing and assist with sterility testing training and test development. Perform microbiological testing on water, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, chemicals, in all areas of the lab as needed. Perform special studies when required. Lift and carry laboratory equipment and material such as petri dish boxes, boxes of water, laboratory soft goods, and samples. Participate in quality control activities and functions throughout the laboratory including but not limited to media and diluent negative controls. Participate in preventative maintenance program for laboratory equipment. Participate in cleaning laboratory work areas, workstations, and equipment. Comply with safety rules and regulations. Comply with laboratory dress code and PPE policies. Comply with personal hygiene and hand washing policies. Attend training sessions that relate to the role function and operations. Read and follow SOPs. Responsible for testing and reporting of all microbiological testing. Opening of OOSs, deviations and change controls. Reporting issues to the QC Manager Calibration and Validation of Equipment and test methods Ordering of consumables and reagents for Micro Lab Training accountability and responsibility Head of department/ line manager: Accountable for ensuring that all employees reporting to you involved in any process, operation, or activity at any stage of an RB product lifecycle receive the appropriate level of training, that training is appropriately assessed, and records of training are maintained. Responsible for ensuring the Training Matrix is up to date and any gaps, updates to processes are reported on the KPI reports sent to Local Area Manager in the designated timescale dependent on the criticality of the training. Personal responsibility: Complete training as assigned by Global HR, Local HR and Line Manager Ensure you only perform tasks for which you are trained Highlight additional training requirements to Line Manager where necessary DELEGATED RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no delegated responsibilities. This position requires the responsibility of delegation from reporting manager in the absence of under the instruction of reporting manager for the following: Making sound decisions on Microbiology Laboratory related issues within the QC laboratory in conjunction with QA pharmacist. Attend shop floor meetings or host quality meetings on behalf of the reporting manager to ensure no tasks fall behind. Lead various quality related systems in the absence of the reporting manager for incidents relating. to microbiological concern such as risk assessments and change control or deviation, under supervision of the QA pharmacist. Grade 12 Bsc Degree/ Diploma in Microbiology/ Biotechnology. 3-5 years' experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
