Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
Coordinating maintenance and repair activities for various types of equipment, including scheduling routine servicing and addressing breakdowns promptly
Ensuring that all work conducted in the workshop meets quality standards and adheres to safety regulations and industry best practices
Managing inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment to ensure availability for repairs and minimizing downtime
Providing technical support and guidance to workshop staff, assisting with complex repairs or troubleshooting issues as needed
Identifying training needs and providing training to workshop personnel to enhance skills and knowledge in equipment maintenance and repair techniques
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory levels, and preparing reports for management as required
Interfacing with customers to understand their requirements, providing estimates for repair work, and ensuring customer satisfaction with the services provided
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safe work practices
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency and effectiveness
Liaising with other departments, such as procurement and production, to coordinate workflow and address any issues that may arise
Minimum requirements:
Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
A relevant trade tested qualification
3 to 5 years experience as a Workshop Supervisor preferably with earthmoving equipment (proven track record)
A valid drivers license
Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedule
