I am hiring several experienced Financial Accountants for Clients within the manufacturing and financial services industries that are located in Western Cape. All of the positions are based full time at the company's offices during the week, Monday - Friday. There is no hybrid, remote working. Company 1: The Manufacturing company is based in Atlantis, WC and the individual must have their own car / valid drivers license in order to commute between the two (2) office locations during the week. Relocation assistance will be offered for this position, if they are not currently living in WC. Company 2: The Financial Services company is based in Stellenbosch, WC. No relocation assistance is provided for this role. All positions will require finance candidates that have completed a formal financial qualification e.g BCom, BCompt or equivalent and have at least 3 years of solid track record working experience as a financial accountant, specifically responsible for Financial Reporting. The overview of the positions: The Financial Accountant plays a critical role in the financial management and reporting of the organization. This position involves overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Financial Accountant will collaborate closely with other members of the finance team to support strategic decision-making and facilitate the achievement of organizational goals. Financial Management Prepare for review the monthly reconciliations for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. Ensure thorough preparation for company reconciliation reviews by meticulously organizing monthly inputs as required. Conduct monthly processing of financial data in Great Plains for accurate reporting and analysis. Timely completion of the Financial Results in line with business requirements Finance General Ledger and Finance Operations Assist with the month-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts including the balance sheet, income statement, various company profitability, operating expense analysis reports Financial Reporting & Analysis Annual Financial Statements & Returns Assist with Preparing / Draft disclosures for inclusion in the Annual Financial Statements and Returns. Monthly Management reports Assist with preparation of monthly financial information for reporting Creditors Management Actively monitor the creditors ageing and follow up (and cleaning) of all balances older than current. Including but not limited to sharing knowledge when it becomes apparent that a specific creditors ageing is deteriorating at the monthly finance meetings. Ensure required approval frameworks are being followed, as per company policy. Tax & Transformation Prepare and submit the Entity's Bi-monthly VAT returns and Monthly Employee's tax (EMP) returns to SARS, manage payment of company taxes due if required. Risk Management Embed a risk culture and document all processes and procedures in area of responsibility. Embed a risk culture and report any risks incidents on a timeous basis. Technical Accounting & Compliance Maintain up to date with developments in International Financial Reporting Standards Stay current with financial regulations and standards. Assist with developing and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance. Collaboration with external auditors during financial audits Minimum Requirements and Skillset for this role: BCom Degree or BCompt or equivalent Finance related qualification 3 years finance experience Financial Reporting Standards: Thorough understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their application in corporate accounting. Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of financial regulations and statutory requirements relevant to the industry. Audit Procedures: Familiarity with audit processes and experience in collaborating with external auditors during financial audits. Risk Management: Understanding of risk management principles and the ability to embed a risk-aware culture within the team. Proficiency in financial reporting software, ideally Syspro, but not essential. Must have advanced Microsoft Excel experience for reporting purposes Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in finance and accounting. Ability to influence key decision makers and to challenge when necessary Resilient and ability to ‘stand your own ground' Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and use own initiative Team player Strong written and verbal communication style and ability to flex style to meet needs of different business units Ability to work autonomously and make own decisions Flexible, adaptable and ability to travel on a regular basis to other office locations in Western Cape Salary on offer is market related and subject to relevent work experience.
