Accounts Payable Controller - - Johannesburg

My client is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join their Center of Excellence team. This role is crucial in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of their financial operations.

This role is based in Bryanston, Johannesburg North.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Invoice Processing: Capture and verify all vendor invoices accurately. Classify and record accounts payable data in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Supplier Onboarding: Onboard new supplier details into accounting and banking applications following specific procedures for each applicable region/office.
Payment Processing: Process outgoing payments ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Discrepancy Resolution: Verify and investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and weekly vendor statements. Report status and discrepancies promptly.
Expense Management: Process employee expenses in accordance with financial policies. Understand expense accounts and cost centers for accurate allocations.
Administrative Support: Assist with finance-related administrative functions and ad-hoc tasks as required by your line manager.
Communication: Communicate queries with vendors and stakeholders promptly and effectively. Act as an accountability partner for operations teams, ensuring timely resolution and escalation of unresolved issues.
Audit Assistance: Assist with audit requests related to samples in accounts payable.
Global Support: Structure work hours to ensure continuity across different global time zones of supported regions/offices.

Qualifications and Skills needed:

Completed Diploma or Degree in finance.
Minimum 4 years in a similar role with experience in invoice processing and data capturing.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Teams) is necessary. Intermediate Excel knowledge required.
