AH 416110 - Junior Ranger (Or Couple – Guide/Lodge Anchor) - North West
A privately owned 6000 hectare reserve located in the North West Province. The reserve has 4 of the big 5 (No Lion) and Sable and Cheetah (Over 50 mammals and 380 bird species). Newly renovated and built Lodges. It is a Small Lodge - Currently 8 Rooms and Main Lodge will re-open in July.
Job DescriptionWe are either looking at a single junior ranger, or younger couple (where one is a FGASA ranger) who is prepared to settle into a role long term. If a couple both will cover hosting, and the candidate who is not a Guide/Ranger to be an all-rounder/Lodge Anchor for front-and back of house, F&B. Standard relevant duties will apply. Previous experience within relevant roles essential.
QualificationsRanger: FGASA level 1 minimum (Higher Level Quals are an advantage and then salary will be commensurate with experience). PDP. DEAT/THETA. Any other relevant qualifications an advantage.
SkillsMinimum 1 year experience within similar role/s within an upmarket Game Lodge environment required. Presentable with good communication skills. The lodge hosts many different nationalities and local South African guests. One of their specialties are children and their junior ranger course, for kids 6+ years. They learn bush orientation incl. building shelter, purifying water, how to make fire, animal spoor, stars, etc. It is required that our guides and staff can assist with this Child Activities.
BenefitsJunior ranger: Salary is R 6000 starting, review after 3 months, with meals, housing and uniform. As a Couple: R15,000-R22,000 as a Couple commensurate with experience and guiding Quals
