To lead, provide guidance, and to manage the personnel of the Accounts Payable and cashbook sections. Calculate and compile due dates and cut-off dates for the section and communication to all relevant parties. Perform ad-hoc duties as required by the Manager. Train and develop team members. Management and control over all changes to the standing data of vendors and create new vendors. Management and control over payments to vendors including payments to members and suppliers. Ensure that final payment runs are created on the accounting system and imported into the banking platform. First approval of payment runs on the banking platform. Ensure that provisions for previous month expenses are accounted for. Analyse month end completeness of the accounting records. Support and take responsibility for resolving general ledger classification queries. Verification of internal reports e.g. daily cash and member stats for correctness and completeness. Actively involved in managing budgeted expenditure in support of month-end finalization. Ensure that relevant cash forecasting spreadsheets are complete on time to enable the senior manager to do cash flowmanagement. Review of relevant travel schedules in lieu of submission to the salary section for tax purposes. Ensure that all clearing/suspense accounts are followed up and cleared. Compile the monthly creditors aging. Supervise the performance of the Accounts payable and Cashbook team and ensure that the goals of the division are met. Skills and knowledge: Advanced application of Excel and Word. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good leadership skills. Ability to problem solve, self-starter. Ability to work under pressure. Able to manage and empower subordinates. Detailed knowledge of the following: Best practices related to Accounts Payable, including travel and accommodation and cashbook environment. Accounting principles Contract administration principals Accounting system software Workflow programmes and fundamentals regarding Healthcare administration systems will be beneficial. B.Com degree or National Diploma (NQF level 6) specialising in accounting with six years of relevant experience of which three years should be on supervisory level. market related Apply Now
