SQL Data & Business Insights Analyst - Gauteng A digital bank with a strong entrepreneurial identity and a high-performance culture is looking for a talented and passionate SQL Data and Business Insights Analyst to join their Data team. The Business Insight Analyst is pivotal in transforming raw data into actionable business insights that drive strategic decision-making and business growth. By leveraging their analytical expertise, business acumen, and technical proficiency, particularly in Python and SQL, the specialist will extract and analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities. They will collaborate with various departments, develop clear and impactful reports and dashboards, and apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to enhance business forecasting and planning. This role is integral to fostering a data-driven culture within the organization and continuously improving analytical processes and methodologies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Data Analysis: Utilize Python and SQL to extract, clean, and analyse large datasets from various sources to derive actionable insights Business Insight Generation: Translate data findings into meaningful business insights and recommendations, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement Reporting and Visualization: Develop dashboards and reports to present insights in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels of the organization Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Product Development to understand business needs and deliver insights that support strategic decision-making Predictive Modelling: Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to build predictive models that enhance business forecasting and planning Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data analytics, continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and methodologies. Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in computer science, Statistics, Economics, Business or related field. Master's degree preferred Proven experience (3 years) in data analysis, preferably in a business intelligence or analytics role Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or similar is a plus Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and translate business needs into data-driven solutions Solid understanding of statistical concepts and experience with predictive modelling techniques Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously Monthly Salary: Market related
