Chief Operations Officer (COO) - Maitland

We are a renowned and established manufacturing company specializing in shop fittings and fixtures with over 30 years of industry experience, with operations spanning South Africa, Europe, and Asia. We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and technically competent COO that will complement our manufacturing operations in South Africa. This role requires an individual with extensive experience who will be able to increase the operational performance of the company. The candidate will be required to provide strategic direction, leadership, and management of operational and financial activities that are aligned to meet the overall strategic objectives of the organization.

Requirements:

Engineering related qualification (Advantageous)

8 10 years related experience

Minimum 5 years of proven experience at a senior level in a similar position

Manufacturing industry knowledge (Advantageous)

Experience in design for customer-specific product applications and product development

Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations

Experience in reporting on key production metrics

Understanding of diverse business functions

Experience in leading projects

Understanding of corporate governance and general management best practices

Syspro experience (Advantageous)

Willing/open to travel

Key Duties:

Oversee and lead the operations to ensure it delivers high quality, cost-effective and timely solutions in line with business needs.

Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.

You will head up the manufacturing, supply chain, technical, health and safety, projects, planning and procurement departments.

Plan and coordinate operations to ensure financial success of the company.

Foster relationships with senior leadership, team members and build relationships with distributors and suppliers.

Monitor and drive production to achieve deadlines and continuously improve, resolving issues that arise.
