Ref: VJ 415701 - Commissioning Technician/Engineer – J Employer Description Our client is a manufacturer and solutions provider in the Electrical & Automation sector. Job Description You will be responsible to lead the electrical commissioning of control and drive equipment, and testing of PLC, SCADA and Drive software for applications in the mining and metals sectors. Responsibilities will also include the following: Commissioning of hardware used in drive application, mainly mine winders and mills Commissioning of PLC, SCADA and Drive software used in drive applications Factory acceptance tests Handling of break down call outs – Standby duty Electrical and Control Audits Presentation of training courses to clients Design and PLC programming on small projects Provide training and Mentorship Document and approve procedures and technical documents Qualifications National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering Skills Years post qualification and 5 years in commissioning of LV & MV Switchgear, Transformers, Instrumentation, PLC, SCADA & Drives systems. 5 Years Mine winder experience (preferable) OHSACT, MHSACT, SANS 10142-1 compliance.
